The winter school holidays proved successful for the Borough of Queenscliffe, with Beacon welcoming 43% more guests compared to the same time last year over the July break. This, along with a massive increase of 89% more caravanners, demonstrates taking the family away for a holiday is becoming the cool way to spend the winter months. The Bellarine Peninsula relies heavily on the money and time spent by tourists within their towns which is why Beacon’s boom in guest nights is an economic boost for the entire region.
Beacon works hard to attract guests at all times of the year, actively seeking partnerships and packaging with a range of local businesses to ensure a stay at Beacon means experiencing all the peninsula has to offer. Offering luxurious accommodation; a 364 day of the year free kids activities program and onsite day spa also creates a reason for the entire family to stay longer and spend more within the local region.
Lorraine Golightly, Owner-Operator of BIG4 Beacon Resort said “It always amazes me how Queenscliff and the Bellarine continues to grow over the 47 years we have been in business. Visits to the region are no longer concentrated to the four weeks of summer but occur all year round. The peaks and troughs are getting less and less which is a credit to local businesses who are providing unique experiences for our visitors and showcasing the region as a destination. Increased visitor activity is a testament to the entire peninsula and all it has to offer which encourages visitor expenditure and increases employment across the region.”
Aligning with Tourism Greater Geelong and the Bellarine’s Action Plan to become a “globally recognised destination that delivers world standard visitor experiences”, BIG4 Beacon Resort is excited to continue providing an outstanding guest experience that encourages further growth for our region.
