Literary Festival of Phillip Island – Cowes

- Go beyond the penguins and whale watching on Phillip Island this winter, experience some of Australia’s best storytellers such as Adam Briggs, Tim Flannery, Jane Caro, Heather Morris (The Tattooist of Auschwitz), and Julian Burnside AO QC in action, try Wapaya Wuurk (an ancient Indigenous practice that combines mindfulness, deep breathing, meditation and movement), or quiz Adventurer of the Year, Michael Smith about his solo circumnavigation of the globe in an amphibious plan at this year’s Literary Festival of Phillip Island from 27 to 29 July 2018.
Everyone has a story is the theme for the 2018 festival and according to festival coordinator, Stacey Shine, not only does everyone have a story but there is also a story for everyone at this year’s event.
Opening night (Friday 27 July) includes In discussion with Briggs’, and dedication to former part-time resident of the Island, John Clarke, by Professor Tim Flannery. Prof. Flannery will deliversThe Good News for John’s Birds” a reference to the birds of Phillip Island, whose habitat John was keen to protect.
