Located in East Gippsland on the 2nd weekend of July every year is the Twin River’s Business and Tourism Association Bream Classic.
For 20 years, 600-1000 anglers make their way to the tiny townships of Nicholson, Swan Reach and Johnsonville to compete in the Bream Classic.
Why do the anglers keep coming? The Tambo, Nicholson and Mitchell Rivers have some prime fishing spots, many hidden and kept secret by locals. When offered the chance to compete against others while exploring the East Gippsland waterways to win some incredible prizes – who would say no?

The Bream Classic promotes catch and release fishing, with all categories containing a catch and release component.
