WEATHER SITUATION:
An intense low pressure system over the Southern Ocean is directing a strong and unstable westerly airflow across coastal Victoria.

Westerly wind gusts around 90km/h are possible today about coastal areas, most likely associated with showers or thunderstorms.

Locations which may be affected include Warrnambool, Portland, Apollo Bay, Wonthaggi and Tidal River.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the East Gippsland and North East districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 am AEDT Monday.
