THOUSANDS of campers and caravanners will descend on Springvale this weekend for the hugely popular Melbourne Leisurefest.
And this year travelling dog lovers can learn a thing or two about taking your four-legged family member on holiday.
Television vet Dr Katrina Warren will be at the exhibition to give advice.
“Nothing is more fun than hitting the road and having a holiday with our four-legged
friends and camping or caravanning with your dog is a fantastic, stress-free way to include
your pooch on your family adventure,” Dr Warren said.
“With more and more holiday parks providing excellent pet-friendly facilities it’s becoming easier than ever before, too.”
Rob Lucas, CEO of Caravan Industry Association Victoria said their research shows that almost a quarter of all caravanners and campers now choose to bring their pets on the road with them.
“So, we’re excited to be able to welcome patron’s dogs along this year, too.”
The highlights of the 2017 show also include the ultimate 4×4 track experience, featuring an array of obstacles including mini rock crossing, log crossing, articulation mounds, a water crossing and hills; Australian cricketing great turned fishing fanatic, Merv Hughes talking all
things angling and colourful vintage vans on display.
Melbourne Leisurefest is at Sandown Racecourse, Springvale from October 5-8 from 9.30am-5pm (Sunday to 4pm)
