The Gippsland Art Gallery Society are delighted to have the support of The John Gibson Trio with Dan McKimm at a night of cool jazz and warm conversation on Thursday 8 December at Equus. Our local community is invited to get together with friends to celebrate the end of the year with a welcoming glass of sparkling wine on arrival, with light refreshments served from 8.00pm, while enjoying 2 hours of some of the best local Jazz that you will find.

John Gibson (Piano), Doc (Trevor) Carr (Bass) and David Harrington (Drums) have been playing as a trio for a few years. All three have played in numerous bands over many years ranging from Swing/Jazz to Blues and Rock. In this trio they concentrate on Jazz and Grooves.

Don’t miss one of the last opportunities to see Dan McKimm perform with the Trio. Dan McKimm (Trumpet and Vocals) joins the collective with a strong capability in trumpet. He is a music teacher and coordinator, having returned to Gippsland Grammar School in that capacity following graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in Trumpet Performance. In this collective he also brings a smooth and fresh vocal style.

All proceeds will be directed to the acquisition of artworks for the Gallery which is currently undergoing a major redevelopment due for completion in 2017.
