A completely new glamping experience has launched at Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park in the Grampians, with first guests to be welcomed from Boxing Day, 26 December 2016.

For keen aviators, or those just curious, the re-vamped tourist park offers guests an exciting first-of-its-kind Aero Glamper, which incorporates a fully functional flight simulator!

The Boeing 737 flight simulator is connected to a 5 star luxury canvas safari tent with a rugged Australian outback feel that has been fitted out with handmade furniture.

Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park owners, Rohan and Josephina McDonald are excited to launch the new Aero Glamper.

“It took some convincing to get my husband to share my vision to introduce glamping because safari tents are expensive and they have a shorter life span than cabins.

“But there was no stopping Rohan once he met the people behind GlampXperience who supply our safari tents and he saw the quality they had to offer.

“He became so enthusiastic that he has taken it to a whole new level by bringing in a flight simulator. We really can’t wait to see how people react to the new experience,” Mrs McDonald said.

Aero Glamping guests receive a free hour of flying with a flight director for each night they stay and also get to choose which of the world’s international airports they would like to tackle landing at.

At night, the simulator can be set to autopilot and wannabee pilots can select their destination and enjoy the first class atmosphere from their own king sized bed.

Coming from the Netherlands herself, when Josephina discovered that Dutch company GlamXperience, offering bell and safari tents was setting up in Australia, she saw them as the perfect fit for the park.

The park has been fully upgraded and renovated in the last four and a half years, with its main upgrades including modern cabins, the introduction of the wood fire outdoor heated pool and landscaping.

The Grampians and Halls Gap are world renowned for their majestic mountains, stunning walks, magnificent waterfalls and their rich Aboriginal heritage, the perfect destination for anyone looking to get away.

In addition to a whole host of wildflowers, many unique to the region, the area is always flooded with an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, deer, emus, echidnas and an enormous variety of birds.

The Grampians offers visitors a connection with nature, family and friends, and what better way to do this than in style, under canvas, on a plane.
