The Prahran Market’s annual cheese festival is beautiful in its simplicity. An entire day dedicated to the dreamiest dairy product humanity has created, where restaurants, chefs and local makers are invited to showcase their wares to hoardes of cheese fans. What more do you need in life?

Back for its fifth year, the Say Cheese Festival will bring more dairy delights to the Prahran Market than ever, closing off the street behind the market to squeeze in even more exhibitors.

So what exactly will you be tasting? In the cheesy pop-up precinct, bite into award-winning margherita pizzas by 400 Gradi, handmade gnocci by 48h Gnocchi and wash it all down with a refreshing Aperol Spritz by Prosecco Queen. Many of regular market traders will be dishing up one-off cheese dishes, including Paul Wilson of Wilson & Market, who’ll be rustling up cauliflower macaroni with braised short rib and cheddar.

And here’s some more gouda news: many of Melbourne’s best cheesemakers will be handing out free samples, including Shaw River Buffalo, That’s Amore Cheese and Yarra Valley Dairy.
