Congratulations the 2024 VicParks Awards winners

The annual VicParks Awards are designed to recognise the efforts, achievements and commitment to excellence by member caravan parks owner/operators, employees and industry supplier associates.

It was an honour to join with caravan park and associate members, life members and industry legends, to celebrate another year of passion, commitment, creativity and drive that underpins our wonderful industry at the 2024 YMH VicParks Gala Dinner at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong.   

The 2024 dinner was extra special as we celebrated the association’s 60th anniversary, recognising the leaders of the past and present, whose vision and spirit underpins the strong association that exists today.

2024 Steve Bartlett President’s Award

This discretionary award was presented to the owners of Aspen Lodge Caravan Park, Yvonne and Russell Prince by outgoing association President David Pratt onsite at Mooroopna. Following the 2022 floods, this small freehold park was about to have its use rights planning permit revoked. With legal, community, local MP and association support, the couple were able to overcome red tape barriers and get on with re-building and getting their residents home.

The 2024 Steve Bartlett President’s Award was proudly presented by the Victorian Caravan Parks Association.   2024 Bob and Shirley Murray Community Partnerships Award Awarded to Apex RiverBeach Holiday Park Apex Riverbeach was commended for its leadership in hosting a 10-day country music festival, a major drawcard to Mildura, supporting local food, equipment and transport hire businesses, while also showcasing local musicians and entertaining guests. The 2024 Bob and Shirley Murray Community Partnerships Award was proudly sponsored by CRE Brokers.   2024 James Kelly Employee of the Year Award Awarded to Kathryn Monk, Discovery Parks – Nagambie Lakes With Discovery Parks – Nagambie Lakes inundated by floodwaters and closed for 18 months. Kathryn was instrumental in the rebuild process, managing an $18 million reconstruction budget and impressing with her ‘can do’ attitude and ability to manage complex situations to deliver a fantastic outcome. The 2024 James Kelly Employee Achiever of the Year Award was proudly sponsored by MHIA Insurance. 2024 Elizabeth White Green Park Award Awarded to All Seasons Holiday Park Mildura All Seasons Holiday Park Mildura has a long list of sustainability measures to its credit, with everything from drought-resistant plants and water-saving dripper systems that run at night, through to the introduction of energy efficient appliances in the new camp kitchen and extensive onsite waste recycling management. The 2024 Elizabeth White Green Park Award was proudly sponsored by  2024 Peter Buttigieg Innovation Award Awarded to  BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park This award acknowledges a wonderful initiative supporting the post COVID work from anywhere trend. BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park’s Office in the Trees workspace is a modern, fully equipped business centre for adult guests who need a place to work and liaise with colleagues while on holiday. The 2024 Peter Buttigieg Innovation Award was proudly sponsored by Yarrawonga Manufactured Housing. 2024 Golightly Family Marketing Award Awarded to  BIG4 Ballarat Windmill Holiday Park BIG4 Ballarat Windmill Holiday Park’s marketing campaign features a series of short, humorous videos shared across multiple social media platforms that showcase the playful and personal side of this family-owned business. Charismatic manager Sam Smith stars as the park’s mascot, highlighting park facilities, local events, customer feedback, Ballarat attractions and park updates in a very entertaining manner. The 2024 Golightly Family Marketing Award was proudly sponsored by Lorraine Golightly.   2024 Workplace Excellence Award Awarded to  Licola Caravan Park Staff at Licola Caravan Park are paired with experienced colleagues for on-the-job learning and mentorship. Employees are encouraged to complete a self-audit quiz, which helps identify strengths and areas for improvement. They are then strategically assigned to roles that align with their strengths, enhancing job satisfaction and productivity. The 2024 Workplace Excellence Award was proudly presented by Brandt.                                                       2024 Rob Ensink – Jayco Associate Member of the Year Award Awarded to  All Parks Insurance Julie Pernecker’s All Parks Insurance has had an incredibly challenging two years getting overseas capacity to cover property and liability terms for Victorian caravan parks. It took an incredible toll on her business and herself personally with Julie spending every waking hour convincing insurers to back her business and our industry. The 2024 Rob Ensink – Jayco Associate Member of the Year Award was proudly presented by the Victorian Caravan Parks Association. 2024 Peter Crawford Residential Caravan Park of the Year Award Awarded to  Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas’ growth strategy is based on developing and maintaining strong relationships and presence in the local Ballarat community and partnering with a trusted builder to ensure consistent home quality. The community also boasts class leading energy management and waste reduction initiatives. The 2024 Peter Crawford Residential Caravan Park of the Year Award was proudly presented by the Victorian Caravan Parks Association.   2024 Tourist/Mixed Use Caravan Park of the Year Award Awarded to  All Seasons Holiday Park Mildura This resort-style holiday park is set on becoming the premier destination for family-friendly holidays in Mildura. The park team is dedicated to creating memorable vacations that combine high-quality amenities with a strong commitment to sustainability and excellence. The 2024 Tourist/Mixed Use Caravan Park of the Year Award was proudly presented by the Victorian Caravan Parks Association. 2024 David Pratt Unsung Hero Award Awarded to  Roger Fuller This inaugural bursary award was introduced in 2024 to commemorate the association’s 60th anniversary – and recognise the contribution of outgoing association President, David Pratt, who did so much work for the industry and its members behind the scenes. The inaugural recipient was Roger Fuller, National Sales Development Manager for YMH, who makes himself available for anyone at any time for anything, particularly helping members during and after natural disasters. The 2024 David Pratt Unsung Hero Award was proudly presented by the Victorian Caravan Parks Association.
