Do your kids love fishing or are you keen to get them into fishing? Then we’ve got the perfect family event for you – Vic Fish Kids at Lake Victoria, Maryborough!

Come along and join Vic Fish Kids ambassador Rex Hunt who will provide expert fishing tuition and inspire young and old with entertaining fishing tales.

It’s fun and free, with everything provided so youngsters can cast a line and try fishing in a safe and supportive environment.

BEST OF ALL, the first 200 kids to arrive will receive a FREE rod and reel! But you’ve got to get in there fast, or they’ll run out.

There are two fishing clinics on the day, the first starting at 10am and the second starting at midday. Note that for a chance to get the free rods you’ll need to attend the 10am session.

It’s all part of the State Government’s Target
One Million plan to grow participation and
get one millions anglers by 2020.
• Learn to cast, how to tie knots and what to
do with a fish when you catch one. Get the
opportunity to release fish into the waters too.
• Free fishing tuition will also be provided by
volunteers from angling clubs and Fishcare.
• Clinics will commence at 10am and midday, and
there’ll be lots to do for the whole family including a
free photo booth to immortalise that fish of lifetime.
• Parental supervision is essential and
participants should bring sturdy footwear,
clothing to suit the weather, a hat and
sunscreen, and a sense of fun and adventure
because they’re going to wonderful days!
