Castlemaine State Festival is a prestigious and exciting biennial multi-arts festival encompassing visual arts, music, theatre, literature, film and dance.

An extraordinary range of Victorian, Australian and international artists have performed at the Festival. Our 10 days program includes over 100 events, 30 venues with artists and performances from 19 countries.

Central to this year’s program is celebrating Castlemaine in all of its charm with unique and unexpected venues. Audiences will be entertained with theatre, dance, music, physical theatre, film, visual art and performance in unusual spaces like a gold mining tunnel, a railways goods shed and more.
