Celebrate Chinese New Year in Bendigo
January 28, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
As You Know, Lunar New Year has a history dating back thousands of years and is one of the oldest and most important traditions in Asian culture. It is celebrated widely by Asian communities all over the world. Lunar New Year is the celebration of the beginning of spring (in the northern hemisphere) as well as the New Year.
Festivities mark the beginning of the 15 days’ observing ancient traditions, customs and honouring our rich community culture.
No matter what the country, religion or race, New Year’s Day is a time for family reunions, gatherings and reflection and for reaffirming bonds.
Lunar New Year in 2017 will herald the Year of the Rooster, the tenth zodiac sign of the Chinese zodiac cycle.
There will be a celebration at the Dai Gum San Precinct on the Saturday evening. All are welcome and we hope to see you there.
