The Turkish Pazar Festival transforms the Queen Victoria Market into a traditional Turkish street market, where visitors can experience the vibrant tastes, colours and sounds of Turkey through food, music, arts and crafts and cultural displays. All entertainment is free and suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

A day-long traditional Turkish breakfast and numerous food stalls will entice the taste buds with an array of sweet and savoury flavours. Offerings include gözleme (savoury pancakes), kebabs (how many types are there?), midye dolmasi (stuffed mussels), Turkish Delight and baklava (sweet pastries).

Visitors can relax over an authentic Turkish coffee prepared on a hot bed of sand and maybe get their fortune told.

The day-long stage program includes overseas performers Grup Iskele Babutsa and Akin Zabit. Sunday’s highlight will be the military precision of the colourful Australian Mehter Band, the first Ottoman-style marching band outside Turkey. Folklore groups perform on both Saturday and Sunday and children’s activities are available both days.
