Congratulations Gerry Ryan On Appointment to Visit Victoria Board

The Caravan Industry Association of Victoria (CIA VIC) and Victorian Caravan Parks Association (VicParks) join in congratulating Gerry Ryan on being appointed to the Board of Visit Victoria by the Minister for Tourism, the Hon John Eren.

Visit Victoria is the product of a once-in-a-generation shake up of tourism and major events in our state, bringing together the key players to ensure Victoria remains a destination of choice for travellers from all over Australia and the world.

Gerry is one of the pioneers of our industry, having founded leading caravan manufacturer Jayco back in 1975, and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. He is also no stranger to major events in Victoria, as Chairman of Global Creatures he is responsible for bringing a number of wildly successful productions to our state including King Kong, Walking With Dinosaurs and War Horse.

Both CIA VIC and VicParks have worked together to represent and promote the caravan and camping industry, especially to encourage more Victorians to get out of Melbourne and explore our amazing regional areas.

“I am personally looking forward to working with Gerry and Visit Victoria to shape the future of Caravan and Camping tourism in our state as we are well placed to assist in the implementation of the Victorian Government regional strategy, Wander Victoria,” said Rob Lucas, CEO, CIA VIC.

“The Victorian Caravan Parks Association is delighted at the appointment of Gerry Ryan to the Board of Visit Victoria,” said Elizabeth White, CEO, VicParks. “Gerry has a significant track record in developing and delivering quality visitor experiences for tourists and we are confident that he will provide the Board with valuable insights into planning for growth in regional economies.”

The Victorian Caravan and Camping industries contribute over $2 billion a year to the local economy and employ thousands of Victorians all over the state.
