As you cross the bridge to Phillip Island, you naturally drift into seaside holiday mode. Maybe it’s the sun-kissed waves, igniting your childhood memory bank, or the friendly village welcome you know awaits.

Once you settle into your cabin, van or camp site, you’re ready to get exploring. Head to Cowes or Ventnor Beach for family friendly bay beaches. Or tackle the renowned surf breaks at Cape Woolamai; one of four very different breaks that make up Victoria’s first National Surfing Reserve.

Native critters take centre stage, from kangaroos and koalas to fur seals and seabirds. Get up close in wildlife parks and on tours. At dusk, grab your spot on the boardwalk to see the famous little penguins emerge from the waves and waddle up the sand. Change up the pace at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit where hot laps, slot cars, go karts and guided tours make every day race day.

Seek out eateries with special views, sweeten up at the chocolate factory, tackle mini-golf or unravel a maze. There’s fishing aplenty, whether you dangle a line from a jetty or charter boat. Not biting? Rustle up unforgettable fish and chips at the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op.
